Lenapehoking Land Acknowledgement Honorarium
Honorariums for the Nanticoke Lenni-Lenape Tribal Nation in Lenapehoking
This is an honorarium for the Nanticoke Lenni-Lenape Tribal Nation, to acknowledge the colonial theft and exploitation of the land encompassed in Lenapehoking (including all of New Jersey, northern Delaware, eastern Pennsylvania and southeastern New York) that was cared for by Lenape peoples since time immemorial.
There are a number of current day communities of Lenape people: The Delaware Nation and the Delaware Tribe of Indians in Oklahoma, the Stockbridge-Munsee Community in Wisconsin, the Nanticoke Indian Tribe and Lenape Indian Tribe in Delaware, the Nanticoke Lenni-Lenape Tribal Nation and Ramapough Lenape Nation in New Jersey, and three Lenape First Nations who reside in Southwestern Ontario, Canada. The diverse communities of the Lenape diaspora have their own relationships and decision-making processes. This Land Acknowledgement Honorarium is specific to the Nanticoke Lenni-Lenape Tribal Nation based in Bridgeton, NJ and was made with the consent of the Nanticoke Lenni-Lenape tribal council, in collaboration with non-Native Philadelphians.
These Land Acknowledgement Honorariums are able to be paid through PayPal, @nllhonorarium. We encourage people to set up an automatic monthly payment, but any amount at any time is welcome. If you would like direction in how to calculate your reoccurring contribution, check out these guidelines or this article. Supporters do not receive anything in exchange for these payments. The Nanticoke Lenni-Lenape Tribal Nation will maintain self sufficiency and determination of how the funds will be used, internal to their tribe. For any questions, including offering additional forms of support, land returns, or other inquiries - please email [email protected].
